Also, can you explain in detail how to use it. I need a step by step tutorial. I tried to us www.x10hosting.com but i wasn't able to do it. I signed up but I am not sure how to make the contents of a folder on my desktop appear on the website. I have a folder on my desktop with 3 .html files, 3 .txt files from notepad, and 1 .jpg file. One of the .html files connects all the .html files together with links. How can i make my website appear like that?

Hi,
It depends what kind of site you are making. If you are making the simplest kind of site, just some static html pages then there is no need to purchase web hosting first, you will be able to view your site fine just in a web browser locally.
However if you are using any features such as MySQL databases, PHP, etc. then you will need a hosting account to be able to actually view your site properly.
Hope that helps!
Regards,
Darryl

Try Apache server and you could host website on your computer.
But if you create website and if you like to run your website 24/7 from your computer, you will have to switch on your computer all the time and it may damage your computer in the long run.
If you intend to create a few websites (usually you will end up more than 1 website), go for multiple web hosting where you could handle your websites in one account.
Visit Following webhosting , they are quite good.
