Makes no sense to look for a hosting company when you are going to BE a hosting company. You will have a severe bandwidth problem. You need to BUY your own servers and set up your hosting company that way. Competition is fierce which I'm sure you are aware of.

The main problem with everyone is that they oversell their packages and the sites all slow down.

I needed dedicated IP addresses as I am targeting keywords in google with a few different sites so I went for IX and their 8 IP offer and so far so good, no downtime and very quick support.
Compared to Hostgator the support is 100 times better, compared to godaddy the speed is about 2.7 times faster.

I won't even mention what happened to me with Bluehost as I don't want to be negative here but they were VERY Blue indeed, like deep water. (Hostmonster is the same company as Bluehost)

So far I have had no probs with IX, touch wood.
