Web Hosting Reviews

Web Hosting Reviews

Some web hosting reviews do not even cover web hosting deals while there are others that do, but in the end the situation can still leave you confused and unsure of which host to choose regardless of what is actually in the reviews that are put forward.

Many people wonder whether there is a solution to this problem and the simple answer is that there is. You can figure out which companies are good and which are bad by focusing on the reviews themselves and determining which ones are genuine and which ones are simply sales pitches. This is easier said than done in the savvy world of cyberspace, but there are some tips below to help guide you through this process.

When considering web hosting reviews in detail (regardless of whether they are referring to web hosting deals specifically or just generally reviewing a particular host), the first thing that you should look at is the language. You should remember from school the difference between a report you gave that was well researched and thought out beforehand and a report you gave that was hurried and thrown together at the last minute. The former had a lot of specific information in it and really did a lot to cover the width and breadth of the situation while the latter generalized a number of things in the hope of glossing over details with smooth language.

This is exactly true for web hosting reviews online. The specific ones that give you information about the different areas of the host (i.e. web hosting deals, web hosting support, web hosting services etc.) are reviews that actually know what they are talking about while the ones that just give you generalized information that you could easily get by looking at the index page of the host website are nothing but sales hype. It can sometimes be difficult to distinguish between the two, but with enough practice and experience you will soon learn exactly how to tell them apart.

Another way to recognize the sincerity of web hosting reviews is to actually evaluate the accuracy of web hosting deals. The internet is a fast beast and change comes to its ways all the time. The various web hosting companies are consistently evaluating and changing their web hosting deals whenever those deals are found to be wanting in one way or another. The websites that are truly on the ball when it comes to web hosting reviews will recognize this and change their website frequently whereas the ones that just want to make a few affiliate commissions will not. Evaluating the accuracy and up-to-date nature of websites is a powerful method for evaluating their sincerity and therefore their trustworthiness.

Remember, even an affiliate site with earnest web hosting reviews can tell you which ones are good, while an informational site with a long list of web hosting deals and no updates is one that is clearly just trying to make a few sales.

Advice and suggestions on web hosting companies?
I've been looking for a webhost to host 3 different sties I have under 1 plan. I don't need a dedicated server or anything big and fancy (yet).

I use Yahoo now for one of my sites but they don't support hosting multiple domains on one plan. That is a must for me.

So far I'm considering BlueHost, DreamHost, and IPowerWeb. Any thoughts on them? Are there any other hosts I should consider?

Are there any good web hosting catalogs with user reviews? I looked for user reviews web hosting providers and I didn't have much luck.

Basically, shared hosting is good enough, for 90% of websites. Dedicated servers are a lot better, but they are at least 10 times more expensive.

For shared hosting I recommend one of these: http://www.hosttell.com/

Powweb is on a 50% sale – $3.88/month ($46.56/year), and you get a free domain from them.

Godaddy doesn't offer a free domain, but you can get one for $2.19 if you're buying hosting from them, plus they also have a 20% sale at the moment. Godaddy also has dedicated servers.

I've been with ixwebhosting for over two years now. They had some issues with downtime a while back but have been doing well for over a year now. I think ever since they moved to a new datacenter things have been running well. I renewed for another two years back in January.

    Hi,

You don't really need to have hosting in India. You can actually have a web host that's anywhere in the world. I'm in the UK but my web host is in the USA and they're great.

When choosing a web host it's of course important to consider the cost (some hosting can be very expensive) but here are some other important things you should take into consideration too:

Web Hosting Space: Some web hosts will only give you 500MB or so of space. This could be a concern if you are looking at creating large websites.

Bandwidth: Some web hosts will severely limit the bandwidth you can use before you incur extra charges.

Uptime: There's no point in having a website if people can't see it. Does your web host offer at least a 99% uptime guarantee?

Number of websites allowed: If you're looking to host more than one website on your account, will your web host charge you more to do this?

Support: If you have any problems you need to be able to contact your web host quickly and easily to get the problem sorted.

I have used Hostgator as my web host for over two years now and have been very very impressed with them. Firstly they're very cheap but still give me more web hosting space and bandwidth than I'll ever need, the ability to host unlimited websites, a 99.9% uptime guarantee and great customer support. You can find them at http://www.webhostgator.info

I suggest to go with a trusted source, where you know who are the people that write the reviews:

The three that I find most reliable are:

    http://www.procompare.com/Find_Products/Web%20Hosting/Web%20Hosting

The ProCompare.com one has a cool slider that allows you to personalize your search.

Most sites wouldn't post new feedback unless they are genuinly interested in real users comments. Try http://www.cheapwebhostingplus.com
